Richeson School of Art & Gallery.; Kimberly,

Learning the Language of Painting
“The great painters in history wanted simple
solutions. Where the beginner sees dissimilarity,
the artist sees harmony and relationships. Good
painting uses the abstract elements available in
the visual language of painting (color, value, edges
and paint quality) to play out parts in an abstract
visual concept. Understanding why certain solutions
work and why others don’t is how the student
can successfully learn to paint well. There will
be 3 days of Still Life painting and 2 days of Portrait
from a live model. Work in oils or pastels. All
levels."

Studio Incamminati; Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
Figure Drawing
This school is the brainchild of esteemed portrait
painter Nelson Shanks. Philadelphia is rich with
history and home to some of the greatest Museums
in the world: The Philadelphia Museum of Art, The
Pennsylvania Academy of Art and the Rodin Museum.
As well as taking advantage of these treasures,
I am very excited about playing a part in the school's
mission to make a traditional education available
to art students of all ages.
